29 Novembre : La 2ème étape de ma grande randonnée me mènera de Cilaos à Marla (cirque de Mafate). Le cirque de Mafate est l'endroit le plus inaccessible de l'île. Il n'y circule aucun véhicule. Il n'y a pas de route. Les quelques habitants des ilets sont ravitaillés par hélicoptère. Cette isolement garanti un grand calme et un attachement très fort à la nature. L'accès au cirque de Mafate se fera par le col du Taïbit, ci-dessous vu de Cilaos à mon départ (vers 7h du matin).
Pour atteindre Marla, il me faut tout d'abord poursuivre ma descente au départ de Cilaos jusqu'à la rivière du Bras Rouge jusqu'à la cascade. Cette première partie est très agréable et ne pose aucun problème particulier. J'atteind la cascade au bout de 2h de marche.
Après un peu de repos au bord de l'eau, j'attaque la longue et dure montée jusqu'au col du Taïbit. En prenant de l'altitude, on peut découvrir la paysage magnifique qu'offre le cirque de Cilaos et la rivière du Bras Rouge.
A ne pas manquer, au cours de l'ascension, un petit arrêt à l'ilet des Salazes pour boir une tisane "spéciale randonneur". 2 tisanes sont proposées : "L'ascenseur" pour ceux qui montent et "la descente" pour ceux qui descendent. Les tisanes sont préparées à partir de plantes locales dont chacune apporte sa part pour aider les marcheurs. Ces tisanes sont des préparations locales servies par une association très sympathique.
Une fois la tisane avalée, l'ascension peut se poursuivre jusqu'au col du Taïbit que j'atteindrai vers 13h30.
Comme la veille, la descente sera un calvaire pour mon genou droit et c'est avec un soulagement non-dissimulé que j'arrive à l'ilet de Marla et le gîte de Yollande Hoareau vers 15h. Le repas du soir sera partagé avec les autres randonneurs de passage au gîte (des Réunionnais, des Bretons, des Landais, et même des Alsaciens). Ambiance garantie. La soirée est très sympathique.
